Moise calls for the fight against the coronavirus to continue

Haitian Head of State Jovenel Moise reiterates his call to continue the fight against coronavirus. In an address to the nation on Monday, April 27, 2020, President Moses used strong words including witches and assassins to describe the pandemic. The invisible enemy is forcing us to make sacrifices to protect our lives, said Moses calling for punishment against those who attack the sick of the corona.

Reiterating the state's commitment to pay compensation to teachers, President Moses said 200 million gourdes had been disbursed to 54,000 subcontractors.

He also said that the promised assistance to 1,500,000 families will be distributed starting this week.

Although he refrained from commenting on the violent protests by police, President Moses argued that arrears of pay, grade, and the payroll of the 30th promotion were closed.

With regard to the management of the covid19 crisis, President Moses announces that equipment and materials totaling more than 2 billion gourdes will be available from the first fortnight of May 2020.

President Moses also called for the distribution of masks to be intensified while urging citizens to comply with the principles of social distancing.
