The President of the Republic Jovenel Moise, announced in a tweet that he chose Jean Michel Lapin as Prime Minister.
"Following the consultations I had with the Presidents of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic, I appointed citizen Jean Michel Lapin as new Prime Minister," said the head of state.
Jean Michel Lapin was inaugurated as Prime Minister a.i on Thursday, March 21, 2018 at a Council of Ministers. He had replaced Jean-Henry Céant at this post, dismissed by the Chamber of Deputies.
If the Parliament ratifies the declaration of general policy, of Jean Michel Lapin this one will become the 22nd Prime Minister who will know the country in the space of thirty years. Originally from the city of Jacmel, he began his public service career at the Ministry of Public Health (MSPP) (1988-1989), and later became a director at the National Library of Haiti (1989-2007). In February 2007 he joined the Ministry of Culture and Communication, first as a messenger3, then as general manager. Jean Michel Lapin was installed September 18, 2018 as Minister of Culture and Communication.
