Haiti News FLASH: Earthquake at the border (Bureau of Mines and Energy)

The Technical Unit of Seismology (UTS) of the Bureau of Mines and Energy (BME) associates with the Ministry of Environment (MDE) and the Permanent Secretariat for Risk and Disaster Management (SPGRD) to inform that a slight magnitude 3.9 earthquake on the Richter scale occurred this Wednesday 12 December at 00:19 and 12 seconds local time.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located in Fonds Parisien, on the east coast of Lake Azuei, about 1.5km from the Haitian-Dominican border, at a depth of 9 kilometers.

No damage has been reported yet by the authorities.
