Haiti Politic News: The Prime Minister on appeasement mission in Arcahaie

Saturday, to day 7 of the celebration of the 215th anniversary of the creation of the Haitian flag (May 18) and following the blocking by the Mayor of Archaie, Rosemila St Vil Petit Frère, of a truck of materials intended for the construction of the presidential stand  Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant met with the mayor at the town hall. After discussions with local elected officials around the development of the area, a meeting was scheduled in the coming days at the Primature to continue discussions.

Subsequently, Prime Minister Lafontant accompanied by Jean Marie Reynaldo Brunet the Minister of the Interior, the Secretary of State for Public Security Ronsard Saint-Cyr, Senator Gracia Delva, the Director General of the National Institute and of Professional Training (INFP), Mrs. Magguy Durcé, the Commissioner of the Government of Port-au-Prince, Ocname Clamé Daméus and local authorities proceeded in front of a large crowd, to the distribution of food kits, agricultural equipment and other equipment for sanitation works of the commue.

The Head of Government also visited the Thébaut Art Workshops and the Jean Jaques Dessalines Professional Center, to oversee the making of 5,000 hats and 10,000 flags for the celebration of the National Flag Party.

Following this visit, the Head of the Government gave instructions to the political and police authorities of the Commune of Arcahaie to do everything possible for the full success of the festivities of the anniversary of the flag on May 18. The construction of the presidential stand to accommodate the high dignitaries, will be finalized in the shortest time.
