Heads of State and Government attending the Summit will be invited to focus on sub-themes related to democratic values, including: strengthening education, promoting gender equality, promoting the application of a code of good conduct for civil servants, the adoption of regulations on declarations of the assets of state officials.
Regarding the prevention of corruption in infrastructure projects, participants should commit to promoting transparency and the inclusion of anti-corruption clauses in public works contracts. It will also be for them to consolidate the mechanism for monitoring the implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption (MESISIC)
Heads of State and of Government should also engage in this summit, not only to create multi-sector specialized services at the internal level, but also to promote and intensify cooperation between the banking and judicial sectors and at the multilateral level, in order to recover assets.
This Summit will also be an opportunity to adopt measures to standardize the funding of political organizations and election campaigns.
President Moïse will return home on Monday, April 16th.
